Introduce yourselves here.  I'll copy mine from the email...

quote:
Glad to see that there are a few people interested in having a cycling
club here in the area.  CIBA stops at Hendricks County, WRCC (lafayette
- the one I'm a member of) has only ridden down here once that I know
of, and the Bloomington club doesn't go up this far.  So, we've been in
no-man's-land for a long time.  I don't know about everyone else, but I
don't want to drive for an hour to go ride with other people.

So, I plan to have several rides each week; once it warms up.  I have a
few rides mapped out that I ride often, but I always like learning new
routes, too.  Most of my routes are on MapMyRide, if you want to check
them out.  My username is the name of the store.  Simple enough.

As I mentioned on the WCCC site, I'll just be starting the club off.
Once it gets going, we'll have elections for officers, we'll get all
official, and we'll start charging dues.  The dues will probably go
toward a ride much like the Hilly Hundred or the Wabash River Ride.
That'll be much later, though - probably 2011.  Until then, we'll just
ride and have fun.

First, I suppose we should find out where everyone is, riding-wise.
Once the club grows, we'll be able to have simultaneous rides of
different levels.  While we're small, though, we'll likely have to have
an A ride one day, a B ride the next, etc.

So, as for me....  No way to hide it - I'm a clydesdale, and I'm slow.
I typically average 14-16mph on my rides, if I'm in a hurry.  Otherwise,
I may only average 12-14.  Most of my rides are in the 40-60 mile range.
I suspect that my speeds and distances will increase as I ride more.
For the past several years I've been working in Indy; on the northeast
side.  That's 3 hours of driving each day plus the 9 hours that the shop
was open.  That left no time for riding.  (The oxymoron of being a bike
shop employee.)  Now that I have my own shop - and it's 5 blocks from my
house - I hope to get some good mileage in for 2010.
Last year I think only managed 1000 miles.  Hopefully I'll even get
below clydesdale status this year!

Other Info:  I own (obviously) Covered Bridge Cyclery.  I have too many
bikes (10 or so).  I'm up for pretty much anything - I have a 29'er, a
Rocky Mountain MTB, a few road bikes, a randonneuse, a single speed road
bike, etc.

So, reply to the group and let us know a little about you.  What kind of
riding you do, a rough average speed you're comfortable with, etc.

I suppose I can introduce myself:

Hi, I'm Amanda, and I like to ride my bike.  See- that wasn't so hard.

I'm an environmental scientist by day, and a granola-crunching, beer-drinking, bike-riding hippie mama by evening and weekend.  I love long rides in the country, winding downhills, and sunset spins.  I also really dig riding downtown Indy, checking out sketchy taco carts, and cruising the circle with the fixie hipster kidz.

I like to average 15-16 mph, and I like to ride forever.  OK, maybe not forever, but 30-50 miles sure is fun.  60-100 is fun too, especially with friends, and especially if it ends with pie.  I'm not fast, but if you'll toss me a cookie every fifteen miles, I think I COULD ride forever.

My trustiest steed is "Mike."  He's my Kona Dew Plus- commuter tank of a bike.  He and I conquered a century ride this summer, slayed some killer hills at the Harvest Homecoming ride this fall, and we're secretly hoping to make the RAIN ride this summer (and the Hilly Hundred next fall.)  Mike has a nice rack,an awesome set of homemade bucket panniers, and stylish black fenders.  He likes to take me to the store, and accompany me the 9 miles each way to work when the weather is decent and the daylight sufficient.

I've recently un-mothballed the "Fairy Gisher," a late 90's Hoo Koo E Koo mountain bike.  We spent a great day on the Towne Run MTB trails this fall, and are looking forward to many more adventures together.

Someday, I'd like to hook up with a hot roadbike, or maybe a fixie.  I'm saving my pennies and nickels, so we'll see what 2010 holds for my stable.

I live in Brownsburg, so Greencastle is a bit of a haul, but if there's good friends, good roads, and good pie, I think it's worth it.  I'm looking forward to SPRING, and getting back out there on the road.

My name is Craig.

I am hoping to do some group rides this year.  I have never done a group ride yet.

My longest rides have been 60 miles.  I usually average 17/18 mph alone.  Can ride up to 20 for shorter rides.  I prefer the flats to the hills and I hate wind.

Will be doing another 70.3 tri again this year, so I will need to get frequent longer rides in this spring and summer.

Hey, I'm Brad, not Brsad so I obviously have no typing skills (anyway to fix this Larry?).

Other than that, I'm from Brazil / Clay County.  Lately my rides have been in the 20 mile range but as it warms up they'll mostly end up in the 40-60 area.  I'd like to say I'm a 20mph average rider but the logs don't really agree with that, looks like last years average was more like 18 www.mycyclinglog.com/profile/BradHayes .

I started out riding in my early teens on long distance supported youth tours, took a break during the late 90's early 00's and really started back in about 2 years ago logging 4600 miles in '09.

I've been neglectful, I see.

This thing is supposed to alert me when a new reply is posted, but it isn't doing so.  I might have to change to a different message board program at some point.  Then Brsad can change his name.  :p
